Aaron Lewis has addressed an unusual mix-up involving his upcoming album and Taylor Swift merchandise.
In a statement shared after fans discussed the discovery online, the Staind frontman said shredded pieces of artwork from his unreleased album Give Me Back My Country had been found inside packages connected to Swift’s merch.
The scraps were first treated by some fans as possible clues tied to Swift. The pieces were later linked to Lewis’ album artwork instead.
Lewis said he did not know how the material ended up in the packaging and made clear that he was not blaming Swift.
Give Me Back My Country continues Lewis’ recent focus on political and country-leaning material. The packaging incident brought unexpected attention to the album ahead of its release.
